Life in Amsterdam, the Review

AmsterdamOne full month in Holland has passed!
I guess I can publish some sort of preliminary review :D
So far:

The GOOD

1) Public Transportation

Better than England (which has, in my opinion, one of the best public transport systems in the world), I still have after one month to witness a SINGLE train delay, and I take the train every day to get to my job. Prices are not too bad either. Who needs a car?

2) Amsterdam

Amsterdam is amazing. I really love the city, its colors and its multicultural environment.

3) Job + Salaries

If the country is not affected by the economic crisis as bad as the rest of Europe/the World, there must be a reason. Salaries are about twice as high as Italy, and you usually get useful benefits too. (I get a free national rail card for example, worth €140 a month)

4) The Red Light District in Amsterdam

Having hot semi-naked girls staring at you behind glass windows on the streets is kinda cool, If you know what I mean.

The BAD

1) Food

Food is bad. Insanely bad. After living for 6 years in England, I have eaten things that you mortals would not even dare to smell … well, food in Holland is worse than in the United Kingdom, draw your conclusions.

2) Weather

Do a copy – paste of a typical London sky and you will have the typical Amsterdam sky. Add to the mix the typical London rain droplets and you will get the Amsterdam weather, too.

Well, all in all, I’m glad i moved here.
Considering weather and food do not matter much to me (I got used to cloudy weathers in the UK, and I always cook my own italian stuff anyway) I might have found the place where I will happily be for the foreseeable future. :)
